Temptation rules

I've been off the radar for awhile because I went to Barcelona for a long weekend. I'll post some pics later. Unfortunately, I didn't end up doing any shopping while I was there (though I can't say I wasn't tempted).

However, the time away doesn't seem to have stopped me doing even more online shopping than ever over the last week or so. Sometimes I'm not sure how I fit it all in! Just shopped the Adolfo Dominguez sale at Vente Privee and bought this top

and this leather and fabric handbag which I absolutely love (especially given that it was £79 reduced from £239!). I snapped up the last one!

I'm also loving this dress - it's gorgeous.

Unfortunately it was only available in a size 8, and now I see that it's completely sold out. If only I'd checked the site earlier!

I'm also pondering over this very cute You Must Create top currently on sale at Brand Alley.

I'm sure temptation will end up getting the better of me this time round!

[UPDATE: I managed to restrain myself for awhile, but when there was only 1 top left I just didn't want to miss out so I went ahead and bought it. Surprise, surprise. Fortunately I also made a trip to the Post office today to send back quite a few returns!]

To cape, or not to cape?

I took too long pondering other ASOS purchases and now the Alice In Wonderland Key Bracelet is sold out. Of course I was also busy making other purchases instead, but more about that later.

I think I've decided I want a cape. Which is one of the purchases I took so long to think about. There's this cape from GAP, but it's not really the type of cape I'm after. Not what I would call a true cape. This one from Hobbs is quite nice, but can I pull off the cape look anyway? I absolutely ADORE this look - but doubt I could get away with it.

I'm not even sure where to find my ideal cape. This may end up becoming a long term search. I've already looked on a ton of websites. I think I need to wander up to Oxford St one lunchtime very soon. Surely Zara has a cape or two on offer.

Weekend spree

I went on a bit of a shopping spree over the weekend (of the online variety).

I was very lucky to score this Cacharel dress from Vente Privee:

As soon as I checked out the sale I was lusting after this particular dress, but it was sold out. Fortunately, I checked again 5 mins later and one in my size (and my size only) had re-appeared. If that's not a sign then I don't know what is!

I also ordered a leather bomber jacket and a couple of Didier Defond bracelets from Secret Sales.

I've been keeping an eye out for bracelets recently, as I don't have many and they seem to be growing in popularity/on trend (particularly charm bracelets). I'd been looking at the Didier Defond jewellery sale for days desperately trying to decide which ones I liked best, and I finally settled on these.

Speaking of bracelets, today I've been pondering purchasing this cute Disney Couture bracelet.

It's part of the new Alice in Wonderland range. You can buy it at ASOS or House of Fraser.

Safe skin

Just purchased a couple of Murad products from Brand Alley, including the Murad oil-free sunblock spf 30 50ml (for half price) which will be fantastic for the 6 weeks of travelling I will be doing in Europe in Sept/Oct this year, not mention the trip to Southern Spain in early May!

My face tends to look terrible after I've applied sunscreen, so I'm looking forward to going oil-free!

Shopaholics anonymous

Are you a shopaholic?

Surprise, surprise. I got:

Super shopper Hey big spender! You’re no stranger to the delights of retail therapy and always get a kick out of finding that perfect purchase. When you’re on form you could probably give Coleen McLoughlin a run for her money but you’re well aware that there’s more to life than the hallowed halls of Selfridges…sometimes.

My rock n' roll life

Quite a strange, frustrating day today. And I've got a tension headache as a result. Can't even say that I achieved much in the way of shopping, although I did purchase these cute Pantherella over knee socks (heh, just typed that as 'cocks') from Brand Alley:

Also purchased a 3 pack of woollen socks for my husband. I won't bother posting a picture as they're quite boring and practical. But hopefully they'll go some way to replacing some his work socks which seem to get instant holes in them. Yes, this is my very rock n' roll lifestyle. Jealous yet?

Cool mum like Lorelai

I'm not new to the world of blogging, but I think I'm going to enjoy this style of blog. A lot my posts will be able to be very quick updates, rather than long, personal diatribes (which are enough to put me off quite frankly).

Not much in the way of purchases yesterday (if you don't count my trip to Waitrose). Although I did buy the last season of Gilmore Girls on dvd [see note]. I have been slowly making my way through all 7 seasons (I'm currently about three quarters of the way through season 6), and have been loving it. Any other fans out there? I keep thinking it would be a great thing to watch when pregnant/at home with a newborn baby - totally puts you in the mindset of 'I want to be a cool mum like Lorelai someday'.

[Note: definitely not a bargain. You can get it cheaper on Amazon (with a long wait for postage), but purchased despite high price due to pure desperation and the fact that Season 7 is not out on dvd in the UK as yet].

Today, I went shopping...

Remember the childhood memory game where you go around the circle, each taking it in turns... 'Today, I went shopping and I bought an apple'... 'Today, I went shopping and I bought 2 oranges and an apple'.... 'Today, I went shopping and I bought 3 bananas, 2 oranges and an apple'. And so on and so forth. You get the idea. This blog will be a bit like that, except that it will be more like 'Today, I went shopping and I bought two bargain designer handbags plus a new pair of shoes'.

Online shopping is most definitely my vice. I have to admit that I'm a bit of an addict and often end up making several purchases per day. Via this blog I will share these purchases with you, the sites I tend to shop on, point out items I'm lusting after, and hopefully help readers grab a few bargains along the way.

It's my hope that this blog will help me to keep better track of my purchases and highlight how much I'm actually spending on clothes, accessories, make-up, etc. It's time to work out whether the pleasure derived is worth the cost. I need to try to get this spending under control!
